As the founder and director of Nurobodi Wellbeing Design Cy’s formal training and studies includes a Bachelor of Music majoring in Composition and Melbourne University scholarship funded Postgraduate Dip. of Interdisciplinary Design and the University of Melbourne mentorship award for Digital Sound Design and production. He was awarded the Asia Pacific ‘Ci2017 Human Intelligence 2.0’ Scholarship to launch and present Nurobodi as a research project at the Ci2017 Conference in Melbourne. Underpinning Cy’s innovative technical training is over 12 years of embodied practice converging Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and practices, holistic Qi Gong theory and practices with integrated Sound and Lighting/Colour designing for the wellbeing of humans and the environments they inhabit.

Cy’s ongoing mind-body studies stem from Tibetan Mantrayana, Vajrayana and Tantrayana include blessings, transmissions and instructions from Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche and Manjushri Mantrayana blessings and instructions from Lama Tendar, as well as attending in person teachings with HH The 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet in ‘The Stages of Meditation’, ‘The Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment’, ‘The Jewel Lamp, A Praise of Bodhicitta’ and ‘A Bodhisattva’s Way of Life’, ‘The Heart Sutra’.

Cy’s unique integration of Nada Yoga and microtonal vocal studies with the Gundecha Brothers (IND) blended with extensive sound design training and personal guidance from Neil Harbisson in the field of sonochromatism are central to the innovative nature of Cy’s sound and light wellbeing practice


Cy’s Wu Gong and Qi Gong studies includes practical and theoretical instruction from the late Professor Wong (Wu Gong) and 8 years of training with Jared Osbourne (Qi Gong) including Embodiment Academy Qi Gong certification in ‘Mastering Presence’ and ‘Golden Body Qi Gong’. He is also an experienced yoga practitioner. As a progressive holistic health & wellbeing practitioner Cy Gorman is formally recognised as an executive member of the International Institute of Complimentary Therapies for his wellbeing work with sound, light/colour & Qi Gong.


In addition to his work with Nurobodi, Cy is a father of 2 daughters, is a subject designer and lecturer in 360 video production to Melbourne’s RMIT Bachelor of Design students and teaches Qi Gong to students of all ages on a regular basis. He is also an accomplished music producer/artist being signed to the boutique Melbourne record label Heard and Felt, composes and performs with the Yaosai Duet and completed his first feature film Augmented Organism in January 2018.
