As the founder and director of Nurobodi Wellbeing Design, Cy Gorman embodies over 12 years of practice converging Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and practices, Qi Gong theory and practices with integrated Sound and Lighting/Colour Design. His previous formal training and studies includes a Bachelor of Music majoring in Composition, a scholarship funded Postgraduate Dip. of Interdisciplinary Design as well a University of Melbourne mentorship award for Digital Sound Design and production. He awarded the ‘Ci2017 Human Intelligence 2.0’ Scholarship to launch and present Nurobodi at the Ci2017 Conference in Melbourne.
Cy’s mind-body studies in Tibetan Mantrayana and Vajrayana include blessings and instructions from Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche and Manjushri Mantrayana blessings and instructions from Lama Tendar, as well as attending in person teachings with HH The 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet in ‘The Stages of Meditation’, ‘The Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment’, ‘The Jewel Lamp, A Praise of Bodhicitta’ and ‘A Bodhisattva’s Way of Life’, ‘The Heart Sutra’.
Cy’s unique integration of training and transmissions received in the fields of Nada Yoga and microtonal vocal studies with the Gundecha Brothers (IND) with tertiary sound design training and personal guidance from Neil Harbisson in the field of sonochromatism is central to the innovative nature of Cy’s sound and light wellbeing practice
Cy’s Wu Gong and Qi Gong studies includes practical and theoretical instruction from the late Professor Wong (Wu Gong) and 8 years of training with Jared Osbourne (Qi Gong) including Embodiment Academy Qi Gong certification in ‘Mastering Presence’ and ‘Golden Body Qi Gong’. He is also an experienced yoga practitioner.
In addition to his work with Nurobodi, Cy is a father of 2 daughters, is a subject designer and lecturer in 360 video production to Melbourne’s RMIT Bachelor of Design students and teaches Qi Gong to students of all ages on a regular basis. He is also an accomplished music producer/artist being signed to the boutique Melbourne record label, Heard and Felt, composes and performs with his Yaosai Duet and completed directing his first feature film Augmented Organism in 2018.
