What is Qi

Qi is the central underlying principle in traditional Chinese medicine & martial arts. Gong (or kung) is often translated as cultivation or work, & definitions include practice, skill, mastery, merit, achievement, service, result, or accomplishment, and is often used to mean gongfu (kung fu) in the traditional sense of achievement through great effort. The two words Qi & Gong are combined to describe systems to cultivate and balance life energy, especially for health. Qi (pronounced Chi) is often translated as life energy, referring to energy circulating throughout the body. A more general definition is universal energy, including sound, heat, light & electromagnetic energy. Other definitions of Qi include breath, air, or relationship between breath & matter, energy and spirit.

More on Nurobodi Embodiment Practices

Nada Yoga

Nurobodi practitioners also utilise Nāda Yoga principles & practice. Nāda Yoga (नादयोग) is an ancient Indian metaphysical & philosophical system, a medicine, & a form of yoga. The system's theoretical and practical aspects are based on the premise that the entire cosmos and all that exists in the cosmos, including human beings, consists of sound vibrations, called Nāda.

Nāda Yoga's use of sound vibrations & resonances are also used to pursue palliative effects on various problematic psychological and spiritual conditions. Nurobodi employs Nāda Yoga to raise the level of awareness of the postulated energy centers of the body as sound is considered to play a potential medium/intermediary role to achieve a deeper unity with both the outer and inner cosmos.

'Pashyanti' in Sanskrit means 'that which can be seen or visualized'. Ancient Nāda yoga texts maintain that sound can also be perceived visually. How does one see a sound? Well, have you ever heard a piece of music in a dream? This particular dimension of sound, as it is in dream, is called Pashyanti. It may be called a mental sound, which is neither a conscious sound nor a semi conscious sound. It is a subconscious sound pertaining to a quality of mind and not belonging to the quality of the sense organs. Nurobodi utilises Sonochromatic & theory & practice to integrate Pashyanti light-sound philosophies from various theoretical relationships between light & sound.
